Commencing in 2016, the inaugural Feed Tech Expo took place at NDRI, Karnal. Following two successful editions, and in response to industry feedback, the event relocated to Pune, allowing for a gap in the North Indian market. Despite COVID-19 disruptions, the event persisted in the same market.

MARKET POTENTIAL

The Indian animal feed market size reached INR 1035.2 billion in 2023. As per IMARC report, it is expected that the market will reach INR 1964.8 billion by 2032, exhibiting a growth rate (CAGR) of 7.2% during 2024-2032.
A rapid growth of ~30% in poultry meat consumption in India in the last 5 years indicates growth potential of poultry feed sector in the country.
India produced ~11 MMT of compound cattle feed in the previous year and even if 50 million milch animals are considered in India, there is a minimum requirement of 5 times more production.
With huge growth potential in Indian Shrimp exports, the shrimp feed industry is expected to experience further growth.
Feed safety is another aspect which is a major focus of the Indian government. As increasing production can’t be a solution until and unless safe food is produced.
~40% growth expected of South-Asian Poultry and Livestock industry in coming decade which India would play a major role.

A recent report by Research and Markets projects the Indian animal feed market, which was worth $4.9 billion in 2017, to reach $14.34 billion by 2023, with a compound annual growth rate of 14.5% during that period.
